About Gutters Santa Barbara
Local Gutter Help, Explained Honestly
Gutters Santa Barbara is a local phone referral service for gutter cleaning, repair and installation on the South Coast. You call us, we pass your request to a home-services referral partner, and an independent contractor from that partner’s network contacts you, quotes and does the work. We don’t employ or screen the contractors, and we don’t charge you for the referral.
Why This Site Exists
Gutter advice written for Santa Barbara
Most gutter advice online is written for places with snow and autumn leaf fall. Santa Barbara is different, and a homeowner who knows what their gutters need can ask better questions of whoever comes out. This site explains those differences in plain terms, with a source for every figure, and gives you one local number to call.
Local Conditions
What makes Santa Barbara gutters different
- The trees. Coast live oak, eucalyptus and Canary Island palm drop debris most of the year, not just in autumn. Eucalyptus seed caps are small enough to get through most screen guards.
- The rain pattern. Almost all of the year’s rain falls between November and March, often in a few heavy storms. A gutter that has sat full since spring has to work all at once.
- The roofs. Clay tile and stucco are common, and tile cracks easily under a badly placed ladder.
- Historic districts. Visible exterior changes in the El Pueblo Viejo Landmark District come under the Historic Landmarks Commission.

Your Checklist
Before anyone climbs your roof
The contractor is independent, so these checks are yours to make. They take five minutes.
Licence. Ask for their CSLB licence number and look it up at CSLB’s Check A License. Gutter work usually falls under C-39 (roofing), C-43 (sheet metal) or D-41 (siding and decking).
Insurance. Ask for a certificate of liability insurance, and workers’ comp if they bring a crew.
Written quote. Get an itemized price before work starts, and don’t agree to extra work from the ladder without it in writing.
Photos. If you won’t be home, ask for before-and-after photos.
How a Call Works
